TJ Lateef, one of the best defenders in the country, committed on Sunday to Nebraska.
A four-star quarterback in the class of 2025, Lateef plays at Orange Lutheran (Orange, Calif.). He chose Nebraska over offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Boston College, Colorado, State of FloridaMiami, Ole Miss, Penn State It is Texas A&M between others.
According to 247 Sports, he is the No. 228 recruit in the country and the No. 16 quarterback overall. He is also California’s 22nd player this recruiting cycle.
As a junior, Lateef had 224 out of 320 for 2,446 yards with 18 touchdowns and seven interceptions.
He took an official visit to Nebraska in late April.

Lateef is Nebraska’s eighth commitment in the class of 2025. He’s the Cornhuskers’ first four-star commitment, but since he’s a quarterback, it’s a significant pitch to coach Matt Rhule.
And since Nebraska won a major recruiting battle for Lateef, it’s likely to be a momentum-generating verbal pitch for Nebraska.
Following Lateef’s commitment, the class is now ranked 30th in the country for 247 Sports.
