Michigan (5-2) defeated DC (3-4), 22-9, at Audi Field in Washington, D.C. during Week 7 of the UFL’s inaugural season.

Former Vol and DC tight end Alex Ellis recorded two receptions for 14 yards. He was targeted twice.

Ellis played for the Vols from 2011 to 2015 under coaches Derek Dooley and Butch Jones.

He played 26 games at Tennessee, including one start, recording 14 receptions, 232 yards and a touchdown.

Ellis was not selected in the 2016 NFL draft.

DC will play next Sunday against St. Louis at The Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis. Kickoff between the Defenders and Battlehawks is scheduled for noon EDT and will be broadcast on ABC.
