It was a good weekend for Isaiah Deloatch as the American football commitment resulted in a strong performance at the Under Armor Next Football Camp.
Deloatch committed to Rutgers in May. He is a 6-foot-2, 200-pound linebacker from Hillside (Durham, North Carolina). He committed to Rutgers from a group of offers that included Coastal Carolina, Duke, James Madison and Liberty.
In addition to being a standout safety, Deloatch is also an elite track and field star. His performances this spring have seen him emerge as one of North Carolina’s best sprinters.
Deloatch’s performance at the Under Armor camp led 247Sports to include the athlete in its ‘Next Five Defense’ among the best players at the camp.
Here’s what 24Sports Recruitment analyst Cooper Petagna said of Deloatch:
“Listed at 6-foot-1 and 210 pounds, Deloatch posted several sub-11.00 100-meter dash times as a junior, displaying the type of speed that is rare to find at the linebacker position. A straight-line move with the ability to close space quickly, the Rutgers commit also showed some skill in pass coverage, representing one of Jaylen McGill’s only misses during the 1-on-1 period. Although it’s only May, Deloatch is a big Tar Heel State win for Greg Schiano’s program.
According to 247 Sports, Deloatch is the 16th player out of North Carolina this recruiting cycle. He is the 57th ranked linebacker in the country.
