Thursday night brought the recruiting industry possibly the biggest news yet in the 2025 cycle as a five-star wide receiver Dakorien Moore gave up on his LSU promise.
The standout from Duncanville, Texas, had been committed to the Tigers since July 2023. His decision means the No. 4 overall pick in the country is back on the market.
There are three programs remaining in contention to land Moore: Texas, OregonIt is Ohio State.
Rivals ranks the candidates as the summer visiting period approaches.

1. Texas
Texas is the easy pick for No. 1 in the current situation. Moore has visited the Longhorns on several occasions, an easy trip for him and his family, just under three hours by car. The Texas offense under Steve Sarkisian suits Moore perfectly with his speed and natural playmaking ability. Texas is also able to sell production and development at the wide receiver position, as well as a reliable future in the quarterback room with the former No. 1 overall prospect Manning Arc. Outside of football, the Longhorns also have NIL advantages, which Moore can certainly take advantage of. Moore will make an official visit to Austin, Texas in June.

2. Oregon
As it stands today, I see the Oregon Ducks as the second option. Oregon has very similar advantages to Texas, with wide receiver production and development, a deep future at quarterback, and proven NIL strength. The Ducks could roll out the red carpet for Moore in June for what should be his final official visit. On this visit, Moore will certainly hear what the Ducks have to offer across the board. Not only with Dan Lanning It is Junior Adams, Oregon has one of the top recruiters in the country at Ra’Shaad Sampleswho is the son of Duncanville coach Reginald Samples.

3. Ohio State
Ohio State sits at three, but certainly not a distant three. When it comes to wide receivers, the Buckeyes are the cream of the crop in both recruiting and development. There is plenty of room at quarterback for the stable of elite wide receivers Ohio State will field in the coming years. Ohio State has hosted Moore before and he will be back in Columbus later this month for an official visit. Offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach Brian Hartline is a master at recruiting the position and a visit spending several days with Hartline and Ryan’s Day could easily help them move up the list of candidates.
