Over the weekend, Derek Zammit certainly backed up his ranking as one of the top quarterback prospects in the class of 2026. Zammit was offered by American football last summer.
In addition to its offer of Rutgers, Zammit was offered by Boston College, Duke, Illinois, Mississippi State, Purdue, Syracuse, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and West Virginia, among others. On the weekend Zammit, who plays in DePaul Catholic (Wayne, New Jersey), participated in the Elite 11 regional.
O Elite 11 The event was held this past weekend in State College, Pennsylvania. After the event, Zammit was named the highest-rated quarterback in terms of athletic qualities after the combined testing portion.
247 Sports ranks him as the 16th-ranked quarterback in the country and this weekend’s performance will only improve Zammit’s prospects.

Zammit paid a visit to Rutgers this spring. He told Rutgers Wire in late April his thoughts on the progress of the Big Ten program.
“They have made it clear to me that I am a priority for them,” Zammit said in April.
“And I value that a lot and I feel like if I go there I’ll be in a good situation.”
