The talent Notre Dame is bringing with its recent recruiting classes has been well documented and to date your 2025 recruiting class It looks like it could be the best of the recent bunch.

The cornerstone of this class is the four-star quarterback Duke Knight from Ludedale, Mississippi, who made his pledge to Notre Dame official in September 2023.

However, as is the case with elite talent, coaches at other major programs remained in communication and in pursuit of Knight. With that in mind, earlier this week David Johnson from Inside the Rebels made a crystal ball choice for Knight to switch his commitment from Notre Dame to Ole Miss.

247Sports national draft pick Tom Loy remains with Knight to stay with Notre Dame, but this is obviously a home-state target that Lane Kiffin will try to keep in Mississippi until he officially signs.

I won’t say I know what Knight is thinking, but the fact is that if it weren’t Ole Miss, it would be someone else knocking hard on his door trying to get his commitment reversed. That’s what recruiting is like in big-time college football, like it or not, and it’s something Marcus Freeman and Notre Dame do with prospects already committed elsewhere as well.

As for investing in Johnson’s pick for Knight?

Johnson hit 69.19% of his all-time recruiting crystal ball picks, while Loy hit 80.75% while making over 1,200 more picks.

I’m not saying, I’m just saying.
