1. Trey McNutt will be taking his visits, but he is close to Ohio State.

Gorney’s opinion: FACT. Close to lockdown it might be a bit much, but after a lot of visits have happened – like USC this weekend – my guess is that Trey McNutt realize that Ohio State It has everything you are looking for and you can continue the legacy there. The Buckeyes have done a phenomenal job injecting defenses into the NFL, they are perennial national title contenders and the Cleveland (Ohio) Shaker Heights standout could do it all close to home where his parents could watch him play. There may be some intrigue in Los Angeles for NIL deals and the SEC is always a conference to watch, but I think Ohio State is on top.

Smith’s Opinion: FICTION. When you look at the surface of this recruitment, it appears to be a prep for Ohio State. McNutt is a talented prospect the Buckeyes want. He plays a position the team historically holds in the NFL. His father was a three-time letterwinner at Ohio State.

However, McNutt marches to the beat of his own drum. The dynamic playmaker has an official visit scheduled to USC this weekend. He spoke very well of Georgia, Oregon It is Texas A&M. It won’t surprise anyone if he ends up at Ohio State. But I certainly wouldn’t say it’s a lockdown happening now. In fact, I would bet the field against the Buckeyes here.

2. There are more than two five-star receivers in the 2025 class.

Greg Smith/Rivals.com

Gorney’s opinion: FACT. There were five five-star receivers in the 2024 class and there could have been more because it was an incredibly loaded group, and while I don’t think the 2025 crop is that good, there are probably more than two five-star receivers. Dakorien Moore is basically a five star because he has been very good and so there will be discussions about Winston Watkins Jr.and many others moving forward. I would love to see more Caleb Cunningham at national events, Jaime Ffrench will be in the conversation along with Vernell Brown, Dallas Wilson and others. My guess is we end up with three.

Friedman’s opinion: FACT. Dakorien Moore and Winston Watkins remain the only two five-stars in the 2025 class, but my instinct is there are at least three and probably four in this class. Caleb Cunningham appears to be an exceptional film talent and it would be great to see him up close at some point before the ratings are final. Jaime Ffrench, Dallas Wilson and Talyn Taylor They are also great prospects who are also close to earning their fifth star.

3. Georgia and Ohio State are attractive, but Clemson is the team that watches five-star OL David Sanders Jr. the most.

Rivals.com

Gorney’s opinion: FICTION. There is a very good chance David Sanders Jr. could end in Clemson. He loves the culture there, like the coach Dabo Swinney runs his program, he has developed a great relationship with the position coach Matthew Lucas and he is friendly with many of the top targets. But I’m not yet ready to say that Clemson is the team to “watch most” in its recruitment because Ohio State and Georgia are making it a top priority and Tennessee could have the advantage now. Clemson is there and it’s great that he’s back on campus, but this battle could last much longer.

Strelow’s opinion: FICTION. Clemson had momentum early in the year, but when Sanders organized a return trip to Tennessee in early April for the second weekend in a row, it signaled a sharp turn in the tide. Much fuss followed subsequent trips to Ohio State, Georgia and Nebraska, but our intelligence pointed out that the Vols retain a decisive advantage either way. Tennessee is the team to beat in the official visit stretch.
