The NCAA football transfer portal reopens Tuesday for a 15-day period, and Texas Tech football defensive back Cameron Watts announced Friday that his name will be entered.
Watts is the first technology player to make public transfer plans during this cycle. He played in all 13 games last season for the Red Raiders, mostly on special teams, and was credited with seven tackles.
Watts still has one season of eligibility left, the bonus year extended to players who were on the roster during the Covid-interrupted 2020 season. Watts played in eight games for Northeastern Oklahoma A&M in 2019 and 29 games for the Red Raiders over the past four seasons.
