Florida football landed its second commitment of the 2026 cycle on Saturday with the four-star cornerback pledge Jaelen Águas of Seffner (Florida) Armwood. The Gators targeted in-state recruiting on campus last Thursday and appear to have sealed the deal with the coveted prep prospect.
The 6-foot-2, 180-pound defensive back was offered in January and returned a few times before his most recent visit. Waters has had the Gators as his main destination since his first junior visit, but the Florida State Seminoles he was also fighting for his talents.
Waters’ connection to Florida
“Coach (Will) Harris and I have a very close relationship,” Waters told Swamp247. “He has been pushing me since he got there and always came to school when he was hired. He is making a point of showing a lot of love and we get along well.”
The love extends beyond the high school senior and the team.
“My dad got a Gator tattoo on his arm,” Waters said. “My father was very happy that I received this offer. I’ve been waiting for this for a long time when Corey Raymond was there. I’ve been waiting for this for a long time. When I got it, it was really good.”
Recruitment Summary
Waters is ranked 188th overall and 14th nationally, according to the 247Sports compound while the On3 Industry Classification has it at numbers 143 and 11, respectively.
Florida had two crystal ball predictions from 247Sports before, but ranked behind FSU in On3’s recruiting prediction machine with a 44.9% chance of getting it vs. FSU’s 54.4% chance. Orange and Blue clearly triumphed in this battle.
