Wisconsin coach Luke Fickell joined Big Ten Network’s ‘B1G Today’ earlier this month to preview the Badgers’ upcoming football season.
He discussed everything from the program’s goals during spring practice, what needs to be done during fall training camp, the additions of USC, UCLA, Oregon It is washingtonthe site of the Big Ten championship game and the sport’s new 12-team college football playoff.

This offseason is important for Luke Fickell and his coaching staff as they enter their second year with the program.
The first year was a disappointment with a 7-6 final record against a light Big Ten West schedule. Initial growing pains should always be expected for coaches in new locations. But the context surrounding Fickell at Wisconsin is a little different as he tries to reshape the program’s entire identity. This means that when the product on the field suffers, it is easy to point to the change in identity as the reason.
That’s why the 2024 campaign is so important for your stay in the program. Improvements across the entire squad are needed, but especially with Phil Longo’s new offensive system of aerial attacks.
Fickell didn’t go into detail with BTN about how the offense must improve and what needs to change from year to year, but it’s safe to assume it’s a centerpiece of the program’s offseason work.
