Wisconsin football class of 2025 commit cornerback Rukeem Stroud decommitted to the University of Central Florida on Monday afternoon.
Stroud originally committed to Wisconsin on June 1 after an official visit to the program. But he recently received an official offer from UCF from the state on Saturday and has now changed his commitment.
The four-star recruit is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 441 player in the 2025 class, the No. 37 cornerback and the No. 60 recruit in the state of Florida. He will now play at UCF after receiving offers from top programs including Wisconsin, USF, Colorado, DukeIllinois, Indiana, State of Kansas, KentuckyLouisville, NebraskaOld miss, Penn State, Texas A&M and Utah,
The cornerback’s lack of commitment took down the Wisconsin team class of 2025 for 20 total appointments. Two cornerbacks remain in that group: three-star Jahmare Washington and three-star Jaimier Scott.
The Badgers’ class dropped one spot to No. 13 in 247Sports’ national rankings with the news, though they still rank No. 4 in the new Big Ten.
With Stroud’s commitment change, Wisconsin lost its sixth-highest-rated player in the class and highest-rated cornerback.
In an era defined by player fluctuations and enticing NIL opportunities, Stroud’s choice to remain close to home is certainly a disappointment to Badger fans.
On the bright side, Luke Fickell and company will look to add to their already stellar 2025 class, with priority going to top-ranked recruits Byron Louis (RB) and Hardy Watts (OT).
