Ohio State football and its recruiting efforts have been excellent so far this cycle, but you can’t get everyone to follow your path, not even close. After already landing some highly touted defensive backs, the Buckeyes had one top priority remaining to put some arc in the secondary for the 2025 class, and that was 5-star cornerback Dorian Brew.
Unfortunately for OSU, in this case the goal compromised elsewhere, the Oregon ducks in fact, a program that has played a very good role in attracting potential customers lately. Brew is ranked as the No. 5 cornerback and No. 27 overall prospect in the class according to the 247Sports Composite Ratings.
Out of Conroe, Texas, but with ties to Ohio, you have to wonder if the work Ohio State already has on the defensive end was a factor. Either way, the Buckeyes are still more than fine on the back end of the defense in 2025, but it sure would have been nice to put a cherry on top.
Things will certainly continue to disrupt recruitment news, so we’ll stay up to date and bring you anything substantial as it happens.
