The expansion of the Southeastern Conference to 16 teams this year with the addition of Texas Longhorns It is Oklahoma earlier It’s a monumental moment in college sports — let alone college football.

The two historic schools bring with them a flourishing rivalry that is among the best in the country. The thing is, though, the SEC is also home to some major rivalry games, many of which are just as celebrated, if not more so, than the Red River Rivalry.

However, it appears the UT-OU game reigns supreme in its new league, as CBS Sports writer Will Backus ranks it as the current biggest rivalry in the SEC. Still, epic matchups like the Florida Gators and Georgia Bulldogs facing at a neutral site in Jacksonville (for the most part) remain in the top five, with the UGA-UF game ranking fourth.

“A rivalry so intense that there is a heated debate over which team should be listed first (they are just in alphabetical order here), the Florida-Georgia games and the games that accompany them get so rowdy that the event is colloquially known as the “ Biggest in the world”. The Florida and Miami Hurricanes open their schedule on August 31 in Gainesville, Florida. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 pm ET and the game will be broadcast on ABC Sports.
