Since Ryan’s Day took over Ohio State’s football program Urban Meyerhe went 56-8 in five-plus seasons.

For most teams, this would be seen as exceptional, something that would not potentially put the head coach on the spot. That’s not the case in Columbus, as three consecutive losses to Michigan makes everyone angry with Day’s work.

College Football Report on social media released its list of coaches who are in the hot seat, and Ohio State was named in the second division along with several teams whose profile is not as good as the Buckeyes.

Should this really be the case for Day after winning 87.5% of his games?

Personally, I don’t believe Day is in the hot seat, but I can see where the feeling is coming from. He inherited a program that was created to win titles, but didn’t even come close to a season.

The losses to the Wolverines are also part of the angst, but remember, Jim Harbaugh began his career against the Buckeyes with an 0-5 record before advancing into 2021. As we all know, Ohio State fans are not patient , especially when they lose. to Michigan several times in a row. Remember John Cooper? We all do.

It makes sense for many to believe that Day is in the hot seat, but in reality, he shouldn’t be. He’s won enough to get the benefit of the doubt, and this year’s team is primed to win college football’s first expanded playoff.

How do you feel about the Day? Should he be in the hot seat?
