Wisconsin football is currently ranked No. 21 in On3’s industry team recruiting rankings for the class of 2025. The program recently moved up the rankings after signing four-star defensive lineman Hardy Watts earlier this week.
The Badgers are notably ahead of the Washington Huskies, Kentucky Wildcats, South Carolina Gamecocks and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in the nation’s top 25. Ohio State, Oregon, Michigan and Rutgers are the only Big Ten opponents ranked ahead of UW in their 2025 recruiting efforts so far.
247Sports, another major recruiting outlet, ranks Wisconsin’s 2025 class 16th in the country after the addition of Watts. The Badgers have secured 22 commitments through July 3 and will look to outpace other programs with additional commitments later this summer.
Wisconsin’s Class of 2025 moved up to No. 11 in the nation following a surge of commitments in early June. The group then fell as other major programs added key recruits, and after four-star cornerback Rukeem Stroud reversed his commitment to UCF.
Still, UW’s 2025 recruiting cycle includes six blue-chip players and an average player rating of 88.29. The Badgers’ aggressiveness and efforts in states outside the Midwest point to an increase in future player acquisition.
Wisconsin will direct its remaining recruiting focus from the 2025 class to its top remaining targets, three-star wide receiver Muizz Tounkara, four-star defensive lineman Kade Pietrzak and four-star running back Byron Louis.
