Michigan State lost one of its top linebacker targets to a Big Ten rival.

Three-star linebacker Grant Beerman of West Chester, Ohio, committed to Purdue on Saturday morning. Beerman chose the Boilermakers over Michigan State, West Virginia and Cincinnati.

Beerman is ranked as the No. 46 linebacker and No. 421 overall prospect in 247Sports’ composite rankings for the class of 2025. He is also listed as Ohio’s No. 17 player in the class.
