New head coach Kalen DeBoer didn’t hesitate to use the transfer portal in the 2024 offseason. Alabama Crimson Tide will have new players joining the program through the offense, defense and special teams portal. Cole Thompson of SEC Unfiltered has the impression that transfer wide receiver Germie Bernard will have a strong junior campaign at Alabama.

Thompson believes Bernard will be a quarterback’s dream. Thompson said Bernard is “a big-bodied receiver who can attack the ball in the air, defend his body in open space and turn contested catches more into 80/20 balls rather than 50/50.”

Although Thompson states that he is unsure whether or not Bernard will be the Crimson Tide’s No. 1 receiving target, he was adamant that Bernard would play a key role in Alabama’s offense next season.

O Washington Huskies The move proved he has what it takes to succeed in an offense led by Kalen DeBoer. As a sophomore at Washington, Bernard caught 34 passes for 419 yards and two touchdowns. He averaged 12.3 yards per reception for the Huskies.

There’s a good chance Bernard doubles his number of receptions and receiving yards. Bernard is expected to be one of the catalysts for Alabama’s offensive success in 2024.
