This autumn’s resumption of rivalry series between the Colorado Buffaloes and Nebraska Cornhuskers caught the attention of Fox Sports. In an article highlighting the 10 Most Anticipated College Football Rivalry Games this upcoming season, the two former Big 12 Conference foes have dropped off the list.

Colorado and Nebraska left the Big 12 together in 2011 and have since played each other three times outside of the conference, with the Buffs winning each game. That includes last year’s matchup in Boulder, when CU stifled the Cornhuskers’ offense en route to a 36-14 victory.

Nebraska coach Matt Rhule recently praised Colorado coach Deion Sanders and his son, quarterback Shedeur Sanders, but the Huskers’ second-year leader also knows this year’s Week 2 matchup is a huge opportunity to your program.

“What Deion did, in my opinion, was make football relevant maybe to people who didn’t watch it,” Rhule said in a recent interview with Fox Sports analyst Joel Klatt. “It’s our chance to get into this game, and people are going to tune in to watch them and they’re going to have a chance to watch us. If we play well, maybe people will have the same energy about us on a national level as they do about them.”
