One of the highest-rated players Deion Sanders brought to Colorado is entering the transfer portal.
Cormani McClain, a five-star prospect in the class of 2023, told On3 that he was planning to enter the portal after one season with the Buffaloes. McClain shared the news on your Instagram account.
The top cornerback in his class, McClain moved to Colorado to play for Sanders after initially being signed to play for the Miami Hurricanes. At the time, McClain said he wanted “to be trained by the best database.”
His only season in Colorado was anything but smooth. McClain appeared in nine games for the Buffaloes, recording 13 tackles and two pass deflections. He also received some public criticism from Sanders, who said the Lakeland, Fla., native was ultimately responsible for not taking the field at the beginning of the season.
Now, McClain appears to be headed elsewhere. He is seen as a potential four-star gateway, by 247 sports and will have four years of eligibility remaining.
