Four-star wide receiver recruit Travis Smith Jr. has committed to the Tennessee Volunteers over the Georgia Bulldogs, Alabama Crimson Tide, and tawny tigers. Previously, Smith was designed to commit to Georgiabut he started the trend for Tennessee to come in on his commitment announcement.
Smith is ranked as the 15th-highest wide receiver recruiter in the 2025 class. Smith is Tennessee’s fifth-best verbal commit in the 2025 cycle.
Following Smith’s commitment, the Volunteers have 15th placerecruitment class in the country. Despite losing Smith, Georgia still has the third-best 2025 class in the country.
Smith took official visits to all four of his top schools before his commitment.
Travis Smith plays football at Westlake High School in Atlanta, Georgia. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound wide receiver is considered the No. 149 recruit in the country. The Westlake star is the No. 20 recruit in Georgia in the 2025 recruiting cycle, according to 247Sports. The four-star wide receiver prospect plays basketball, participates in track and field and has good speed.
Smith might not be Tennessee’s only big recruiting win. The Volunteers are also expected to move four-star linebacker Jadon Perlotte away from Georgia.
Kirby Smart and Georgia have commitments from four wide receivers and 19 overall recruits in the 2025 class.
