When he was initially hired, fans and analysts had questions about Kalen DeBoer’s recruiting ability. Although he has yet to coach a game for the Alabama Crimson Tide, DeBoer had numerous wins on the recruiting trail that piqued the public’s interest. His latest recruiting win was landing a commitment from five-star defensive lineman Ty Haywood.
Haywood, who stands 6-foot-2 and weighs 285 pounds, is from Denton, Texas, and chose Alabama over several other top programs, such as Florida State Seminoles, Texas A&M Aggies, Oklahoma earlier and others.
O 247Sports Compound ranks Haywood as the No. 11 player in the country, the No. 4 player in Texas and the No. 2 offensive tackle in the class of 2025. ESPN ranks Haywood as a four-star prospect ranked No. 18 overall in 2025 top 300.
Landing Haywood’s commitment only adds to Alabama’s already impressive 2025 recruiting class, which features four five-star prospects and an impressive 12 four-star prospects. Overall, the Crimson Tide’s Class of 2025 ranks second in the country How things are. However, there could always be some decommitments, but DeBoer is expected to add more top-tier talent as the recruiting cycle progresses.
