Five-star safety Trey McNutt will make his college decision on July 19, he announced last week. He will choose between Florida, Ohio State, Oregon, USC and Texas A&M.

McNutt is Ohio State’s No. 2 player, the No. 19 player overall and the No. 1 safety in the 2025 class.

The Shaker Heights (Ohio) native officially visited the Ducks in late June, multiple On3 predictions have done so committing to Oregon.

McNutt is currently the favorite to pick the Ducks, with a 78.1% edge on the On3 Draft Prediction Machine.

McNutt visited USC on May 31, Florida on June 7, Texas A&M on June 13 and did not visit his home school at Ohio State.

USC is hoping it can turn the tide in this recruiting so it can pull off a real win against the recruiting juggernaut of Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks. Losing to Oregon in a big football recruiting game has gotten old, but it’s the story of the summer. The Trojans frankly need a big 2024 season to change the conversation and shift the balance of power in the draft come December.
