How many schools have made the SEC playoffs?

Are there only three?

So I look at it this year, I’m looking at this thing and saying, uh, we don’t know how many they’re going to get in.

But I think you can realistically say there are nine teams that can go to media day or the season and say I have a chance.

Obviously it’s Georgia, it’s Alabama, Texas, Ole, Miss LSU, Missouri, Tennessee, Oklahoma and Texas A and MI think everyone is looking at a season where they could say I can make the playoffs if a lot of things happen.

Right.

Absolutely.

I think this is one of the reasons why this is the most interesting year of SEC football ever. No conference is likely to benefit more from the expanded playoff than the SEC.

It was the deepest, it was the best.

And then you’ll have more teams there.

And I think so, those nine that you named with varying degrees of probability, but they definitely can.

Alright now, mid-July, sit there and say, hey, why not?

And I’ll give you one more with at least a punching chance.

If many things happen.

Well, that’s Kentucky, which I think the schedule defines.

Well, they have eight starters on offense and 10 on defense.

They rented a usual quarterback through the portal and we’ll see if the homie Vandergriff, who was beaten by Carson at Georgia.

If he’s really good, then that could be the key component.

They begin with four straight home games, including the first two games of the second, which are South Carolina and Georgia.

If you beat Georgia and start at four and, oh, hey, you’re in the mix.

I’m not going to sit here and say I’m not predicting Kentucky to make the playoffs, but I think you could almost add them as a 1/10 possibility.
