Steve Sarkisian is devouring talent as his Texas Longhorns prepare for their first season in the SEC.

The coach will be without 4-star Nick Townsend until next season, but the tight end is the most recruited player Sarkisian has landed at the position since taking over in Austin.

Townend studies at Dekaney in Houston (TX).

Plays and excels on both sides of the ball and looks like a legit Top247 guy as a TE, linebacker or edge rusher. He has a compact frame but works like a wide receiver. He lines up everywhere, wide, in the slot and in the backfield and shows strong hands and the ability to make big plays after the catch. He evades defenders, drags potential defenders and has a physical advantage in his game. He shines in the linebacker and edge defense showing natural pass rush ability and hits like a truck as a ‘backer’.
