The 2024 Ohio State football season is less than 50 days away. But many Buckeye fans are seeing if they can lead Caleb Downs, TreVeyon Henderson, Emeka Egbuka and the rest of the team to a national championship.
EA Sports College Football 25 launched on Monday to customers who pre-ordered the game, with a wide release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on Friday. It is the first college football-centric video game since 2013, and the first after name, image and likeness allowed current college football players to appear in the game and be rewarded for doing so.
Ohio State is the second-ranked team in the EA Sports College Football 25 with a 93 overall, and is one of eight teams with an overall rating of 90 or higher along with Georgia (95), Oregon (93), Alabama (92), Texas (92), Clemson (90), Notre Dame (90) and LSU (90).
Ohio State EA Sports College Football Season 25 Simulation
In EA Sports College Football 25’s simulation of the 2024 season, the Buckeyes have won each of their first 11 games, including a one-score road victory against Oregon and a 26-point road victory against Penn State.
But Ohio State lost its fourth straight regular-season meeting against Michigan before losing to the Wolverines again in the Big Ten Championship.
Ohio State enters the first 12-team College Football Playoff as the No. 6 seed and beats No. 11 Virginia Tech at home. The Buckeyes beat third-ranked Utah in the Fiesta Bowl and second-ranked Mississippi in the Cotton Bowl to set up a national championship game with fifth-ranked Notre Dame.
Despite two losses to Michigan, the Buckeyes secured their ninth national championship with a 38–24 victory over the Fighting Irish.
In the simulation, defensive end Jack Sawyer and Downs finished as first-team All-Americans. Henderson, left guard Donovan Jackson and defensive end Tyleik Williams were second-team All-Americans.
Note: The simulation was performed with Ohio State’s 2024 schedule in dynasty mode and OSU’s base lineup in the EA Sports College Football 25 video game. Quarter length was set at 15 minutes.
