Recruiting doesn’t take a break in the summer. In fact, it just heats up.
After a wave of official visits in June, July and August have been popular times for some of the country’s best to make college decisions. More are expected as the summer continues.

Davis made official visits to South Carolina, Duke, North Caroline, Clemson It is Georgia this summer. Several programs have made big moves with the talented defenseman from Greensboro (N.C.) Grimsley High, including the state Tar Heels and Georgia, which was hot at one point for Davis. However, Clemson got top-100 talent on campus first and set the standard for Davis, who commits on July 20.

Dear reopened his recruitment last month after making an official visit to Alabama and paying a visit to Baton Rouge. Dear committed to the State Rebels early on, but Alabama never took its foot off the gas with one of Mississippi’s best. After returning to Tuscaloosa in June, the Tide began to rise with the elite back. A decision is not expected to be far away.

Fegans will step down from the board at the end of July in a decision expected to come to Georgia, LSU It is Auburn. Fegans, just once USC verbal pledge from Alabaster (Ala.) Thompson High also officially visited Clemson last month. However, Fegans is trending toward the SEC. Sources believe Auburn will have a slight advantage come July 29th.

Griffin’s recruitment is expected to go far, which always opens the door for a lot of twists and turns, especially with a five-star prospect. Griffin was at Georgia and South Carolina for most of both programs, and State of Florida, Miami and USC are also participating in this recruitment. Griffin officially visited Miami and USC last month, and also paid a visit to Athens. The Hurricanes aren’t going anywhere with the five-star DT and Eric Henderson is prepared to continue his success in his first year at USC. Konanbanny is another top trend to make a decision before the end of summer. The talented South Carolina transplant from UK has made official visits to Florida State, LSU, Tennessee and North Carolina in June. As the decision approaches, expect it to come down to the Vols and Seminoles. Florida State has increased the pressure on Konanbanny, who has been frequenting Rocky Top this off-season.

Lockhart reopened his recruitment this summer. Auburn’s one-time commitment from Winona (Miss.) High has already taken place on campus in Starkville and Mississippi State is a program that is on the rise at the right time with one of the state’s top defensive prospects.

Petty will make his college decision in August after staying busy over the summer. The Peach State’s talented offensive tackle made official visits to StanfordState of Florida, Tennessee, Ohio State It is Georgia Tech, and as he gets closer to his pick, it’s likely to be a three-way battle between Stanford, Florida State and Ohio State. Petty’s last official visit in June — to Tallahassee — made the biggest impact on the tackle and his family.

The 2025 Rivals250 No. 1 forward is expected to make his college decision on Aug. 17. Sanders Jr. made official visits to Georgia, Tennessee, Nebraska, South Carolina, Ohio State and Clemson over the summer, and this race is coming down to Ohio State, Georgia, Tennessee and Nebraska. Since official visits ended in June, there has been heightened confidence in Columbus about the Buckeyes’ chances of signing Sanders. Until further notice, I consider Ohio State to be the program in charge.

Smith has taken official visits to Miami, South Carolina, Georgia Tech and Georgia over the past month, and is ready to make a decision on Saturday, July 20. Visits to South Carolina and Miami definitely caught Smith’s attention, but sources close to this recruitment saw the in-state Dawgs as the team to beat for much of the off-season. Georgia remains in pole position as the critical moment approaches.

Smith traveled a lot during the summer. The four-star defensive back from Alabaster (Ala.) Thompson High took official visits to South Carolina, Tennessee, USC, Florida State and Georgia in June. He is scheduled to return to The Plains for Big Cat Weekend later this month. Sources see this as a three-team battle between South Carolina, Florida State and Auburn, with the state’s Tigers in position to capitalize with a visit to the deck before Smith’s Aug. 3 decision.
