Wide receiver at IMG Academy Bradenton (Florida) Eric McFarland III was offered by USC and he has yet to play high school football.
The class of 2028 wide receivers, along with IMG Academy quarterback Jayden Wade, are two of the top freshmen in the country and are on the freshman preseason squad for the 2024 high school football season.
McFarland also holds Arizona, Colorado, UCF, Florida State, Georgia, Missouri, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Toledo, UNLV, Washington and Wisconsin.
The 5-foot-10, 170-pound McFarland will be a mainstay for the Ascenders over the next four years. He catches the ball easily and makes accurate cuts. Keep an eye on McFarland as a possible future five-star recruit.
It’s true that USC’s main focus has to be the 2025 recruiting class and, more than that, what it can achieve up front on the defensive and offensive lines. That’s the crux of the Trojans’ recruiting wish list right now. However, landing an elite receiver a few years from now certainly wouldn’t hurt.
