Texas may be 1-0 against Michigan football in history, but never forget, Longhorns starting quarterback Quinn Ewers is 0-1 against the Wolverines.
Ewers came to Ann Arbor as the rival’s freshman quarterback Ohio State in 2021, before later being moved to Texas the following year. So apparently, even though Ewers is a Texas native, you can take the kid away from the Buckeyes, but you can’t take the Buckeye away from the kid.
On Wednesday at SEC media days, Ewers was asked about UT’s Week 2 game at Michigan, and while he had a good answer, he utilized one of OSU’s rallying cries.
“Going to The Big House, yes – it will be an amazing environment,” Ewers said. “The place is going to rock. Especially all the hype because it’s an early game. And they are coming off a very big victory: the national championship. Yes, the northern team.”
He’s not exactly wrong, as Ann Arbor is a little north of Austin. It might not exactly be bulletin board material, but it might be good enough for the Wolverines to conjure up a defense in a game where there won’t be much additional motivation.
