The Big Ten Conference will be fascinating to watch for all the obvious reasons tied to conference realignment. Seeing USC, Oregon, Washington and UCLA in the Midwest conference will be something new and fresh. The conference matchups will be new and interesting. We can say that Washington State and Oregon State got a very unfair deal, and we can also say that it’s a shame that the Pac-12 no longer exists, but we can also admit that having Penn State go to the Los Angeles Coliseum to Facing USC will be really cool. Seeing USC go to Ann Arbor and the Big House for a regular season conference game against Michigan will be special. It’s clear that Big Ten football will be very intriguing in 2024, for all the obvious reasons. However, there are reasons beyond the obvious why the Big Ten will teem with drama and mystery.

One reason is that Big Ten quarterbacks are largely unproven. There’s Dillon Gabriel from Oregon and not much else. Miller Moss may be great, but he needs to prove himself. Penn State’s Drew Allar may be great, but he still needs to prove himself. That’s the case with most Big Ten quarterbacks this year: lots of potential, but not a lot of elite results at this point.

Mark Rogers talked about this and more on his Big Ten show on The Voice of College Football:
