LSU Cornerback Javien Toviano turned himself in to police on Sunday on charges of video voyeurism.
According to an arrest warrant, the 19-year-old student allegedly recorded himself having sex with a woman without her consent, using a watch with a built-in camera that was near the bed.
The woman, who claims she told Toviano she didn’t want to be recorded, said she found videos of the two of them on Toviano’s iPad. The videos, according to the arrest report, were taken on July 5th and 6th.
Police were able to find three videos on Toviano’s iPad with a search warrant. In the videos, investigators were able to identify Toviano and the woman.
In response, Toviano was suspended by LSU from all team activities “in accordance with departmental policies.” according to a statement released Sunday by the university. The statement added that LSU has no further comment at this time “out of respect for the legal process.”
Louisiana legal states that someone convicted of voyeurism for the first time is not fined more than $500 and is imprisoned for a maximum of six months
