STILLWATER – Gunnar Gundy’s football career is busy again.

The son of Oklahoma State football coach Mike Gundy is expected to become a Hornet at Division II Emporia (Kansas) State University, as reported by KSNT News.

After spending his first three seasons playing for his father, Gundy has two years of eligibility remaining.

Gundy appeared in nine games for OSU, completing 54.8% of his passes for 449 yards and four touchdowns. He ran for 120 yards, including a 10-yard touchdown in the Texas Bowl last December, his last game as a Cowboy.

He initially entered the transfer portal in December and received several offers before committing to Ohio. But after a few days on campus, he changed direction and re-entered the portal in late January.

Gundy spent the spring at home with his family in Stillwater, but will now make the three-hour trek north to play for Oklahoma native Garin Higgins, who is entering his 17th year leading the NCAA Division II program. The Hornets are coming off back-to-back nine-win seasons.
