In the midst of the busy summer recruiting and visiting season once again underway, we have a slightly different type of news with a four-star prospect in Texas.
Sugar Land (Texas) Fort Bend Christian four-star defensive end Max Granville, who committed to Penn State in June, has been reclassified to the class of 2024. With this move, he has enrolled at Penn State and will be in Happy Valley in autumn.
Granville was ranked as the No. 220 overall prospect and the No. 9 weakest defensive end in the 2025 cycle.
Granville spoke about his process that led to the victory of James Franklin and his team.
“Only the [defensive] finishes that they have been producing for the last two years. Cut [Robinson], Adisa IsaacIt is [Micah] Parsons. I know some of them were on a different team, but the defense hasn’t changed much. And I believe in the coach (Tom) Allenas coordinator and I think they will be able to do the same things. I think the strength and conditioning there has pretty much everything I need. It also has everything I wanted at school.”
“I’ve been leaning toward Penn State since my official visit, actually. My mind went back and forth throughout the whole process, but when you take a step back and take the emotion out of it, I think Penn State has the best to offer in my situation and I will be developed there. Yesterday at the airport coming back from Oklahoma, I talked things over with my dad and I kind of knew I was 95% Penn State. “
Granville becomes the 26th addition in Penn State’s 2024 class. Before this change, the Nittany Lions class was ranked 17th in the 2024 cycle.
