AUGUSTA, Georgia – Tiger Woods is on track for his 100th round at the Masters after getting some swing tips from his teenage son Charlie on the driving range.
While there is no green jacket this year for the five-time Masters champion – he entered the 18th round behind leader Scottie Scheffler – Woods will look to finish strong after shooting 82 on Saturday, the worst round of his illustrious career in a major.
It was a start to the round of ups and downs.
Woods, 48, wearing his traditional Sunday red, started with a par, then a birdie followed by a bogey and another par in the first four holes. This came just moments after Woods’ 15-year-old son, who is also becoming a great golfer, showed up to give his famous father some swing tips.
The once-dominant Woods, who entered in the 11th round, is playing Neal Shipley, the only amateur to make the Masters.
The age difference between the two is notable.
Woods has made a record 24 consecutive cuts in the Majors, the first of which came before the birth of 23-year-old Shipley.
But even with Woods out of contention, he will almost certainly draw a large crowd of fans, especially as he is one of the few players on the course so early in the morning.
