Why did you place 26th overall?
Um, he’s one that I can definitely see coming up throughout the process, because like, if you’re just telling me without, without saying the, the player, right?
Like who, who is the player, something like that or, or just no names on the back of the shirt.
You’re telling me I can take the MVPs number one wide receiver as the 26th wide receiver off the board.
I think that’s a value, especially when you look at, again, how good the flowers are.
Now, again, you put some of the names on the back of the jersey here.
We understand it’s Lamar Jackson, it’s the Ravens, they’re never going to lead the league in pass attempts.
This will not happen.
Uh, Mark, I also said number one wide receiver because, like, Mark Andrews is probably still, I imagine the team’s number one target, even though I’m not going to write that at Penn.
Um, just because normally, if a wide receiver takes that big step forward and jumps to the superstar level, he can surpass the number one tight end.
Um, and then you look at Z Flowers and see how he aligns with Lamar Jackson.
I think this is super important.
I tweeted about it this morning.
Most crucial mark in Z Flower’s rookie year catch perception profile: 85% success rate versus zone coverage that falls into the 90th percentile in catch perception history.
He would have been in fourth place if he had been among the players mapped in 2020.
Zay Flowers is very good at beating zone coverage.
Lamar Jackson will face a lot of zone coverage every year because teams are afraid to turn their backs on him and play man coverage.
Um, there are some problems like that.
Zay Flowers needs work against man coverage, but he is solid against man coverage.
So I think the key here, Tara is, I think Zay Flowers is good.
I think we can all agree, Zay Flowers is good, but how high can he fly?
Um, like, how good of a player can he be?
Can he reach that superstar level?
And I think it’s going to be fascinating to see that again, to see how he ends up going from an ad P perspective, because I just look at some of the guys going ahead of him and I can easily tell myself a story of how Zay Flowers outperforms them.
I agree.
I can see him going up and I think he deserves to go up.
I mean, when we look at him as a rookie, you can look at the season as a whole.
But with the rookies, I like to look at the second half of the season and see how they’ve developed along the way.
EZ Flowers really came into his own as the season started to progress.
He started, you know, finally becoming someone that they could trust, you know, at first, he wasn’t getting a lot of touchdown opportunities, but he started getting more red zone opportunities.
He was also getting targets.
So he was starting to get his regardless of how the game was going, the flow of the game and the previous volume that was there.
And I think that’s what we need to see from him.
You know, we know that targets will probably lean favorably towards him compared to a guy like Rashad Bateman.
You know, him resigning probably favored Z Flowers in terms of keeping the offense safe as it is and letting Flowers have that wide receiver in a role where he’s getting the most volume.
You know, again, Mark Andrews being the factor in terms of targets, but seeing him finish so well with the touchdowns is also what really encouraged me and I think we should see a positive progression for him as we move into this season.
So, I’m comfortable with it in AD PI, I think it can go up a little and if it goes up a little, I won’t be afraid of it.
I’m going to lean into that.
