Video transcript

Arizona Cardinals, James Connor and Trey Benson.

Um, I think I’ve said this a lot, where I talked weirdly about the Cardinals.

And as you mentioned, the episode we did with Nate Ty where we talked about the Cardinals’ running game is a very underrated unit.

Um, seventh in epa racing, 12th in race success rate.

Um, they were very high in terms of explosive run rate.

They did some good things on the ground last year.

I think in my head I’m too focused on Trey Benson and when does he take over?

And he just looks like the profile of the running back you want to bet on, right.

Very underrated.

Russian ecosystem, explosive newcomer, a kind of positive side of the unknown.

But, like Jorge, what if the answer is both?

Like, what if I’m making the same mistake?

I was trying to get people to not do it last year, which it is.

Yes.

Yes.

Yes, that veteran.

Cool, cool, cool.

Get it out of the way, get it out of the way.

Let’s bring the young man here.

What people were doing with Jamir Gibbs last year.

And Dave Montgomery, what if we’re talking about season pockets?

The starting part is the James Connor part, which is Connor who fits perfectly into the David Montgomery archetype, a good starting defensive guy who can, you know, kind of hit on, uh, these run plays, but he’s functional even in the past game more than functional at times during his career.

And then Benson, I don’t think he’s Jamir Gibbs either, he’s a pass-catching threat.

Although Gibbs wasn’t fully cleared as a passer.

I think there’s still more upside to that, but he can give you some energy in the passing game and he’s a good early runner himself.

Like there’s room for these two guys to thrive in multiple roles.

And I think, yes, junior Kyler Murray and Marvin Harrison are going to get the headlines and the attention.

But I think this is a group that wants to rely on the ground game.

A coaching staff that wants to emphasize this running game.

Um, I didn’t really think about them until the last few minutes of preparing for this podcast.

I was like, yeah, why, why can’t I, it’s a look with all this twist, script nonsense that we’re doing here.

It’s like, is it an exact copy?

No, but if we’re thinking about the model one guy is Dave Montgomery and the other is Jamir Gibbs and both could really give you starting weeks in Fantasy.

This year.

I could see James Connor being Dave Montgomery and Jamir Gibbs being played by Trey Benson this season.
