Gruden spent eight years with the Raiders over two stints, with his last ending in 2021.

The 60-year-old resigned after a New York Times investigation alleged that he had sent inappropriate emails.

“I love the Raiders and I don’t want to be a distraction,” Gruden said upon resigning three years ago.

“Thank you to all Raider Nation players, coaches, staff and fans. I’m sorry, I never intended to hurt anyone.”

Gruden joined Chiefs HC Andy Reid on the practice field at the Chiefs’ summer camp at Missouri Western State University.

He and Reid coached together during their days with the Green Bay Packers in the early 1990s.

And Reid revealed he invited his close friend to get his “opinion” ahead of the new season.

“He loves football,” Reid explained to reporters on Monday, while video of Gruden’s presence went viral.

No team in the modern era of the NFL has won three consecutive Lombardi Trophies.

Last season, Gruden worked as a consultant for the New Orleans Saints, for CBS.

He also took on the role of advisor to Italian football team Milano Seamen of the European Football League.

As an NFL head coach, Gruden boasts a winning record of 117-112.

He won the Super Bowl with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2002.

Gruden filed a lawsuit against the NFL in November 2021 following his dismissal from the Raiders.

He claims the league “forced him to resign” by “leaking personal emails” for ESPN.
