Later in the game, Williams impressed fans when he faked a handoff to running back Khalil Herbert, rolled to his right and hit tight end Cole Kmet with a 26-yard pass down the sideline.

“My job is just to get him the ball in space and let our players like Cole and them do their magic…

“Cole did a great job selling it and breaking it into the corner.”

Williams is extremely excited about the upcoming season after making a dazzling preseason debut for the Bears.

“You have to understand where we are and what we have and where we are going — that’s the most important thing,” Williams said.

“But you also have to be where your feet are. So when you’re on the field preparing for this game, you’re enjoying it, you’re having fun, you’re having a great time on the field.

“When we get here early tomorrow, we’ll take a step back, go through the tape and move on to the next preseason. [game].

“You go from there and you keep growing, you keep growing, you keep growing and then we keep counting those days, counting those hours and going after it.”
