But tensions quickly began to rise between the two sides.

Reddick, 29, is out of Jets training camp due to a contract dispute.

The impasse escalated earlier in the week, with the two-time Pro Bowler calling for the team to be traded.

But New York doesn’t appear willing to grant the 6-foot-10 linebacker’s desire.

“We have informed Haason that we will not trade him,” Jets general manager Joe Douglas said in a statement. a statement.

“That he is expected to be here with his teammates and that he will continue to be fined by the CBA if he does not report.”

“Since the trade discussions in March we have been clear, direct and consistent with our position.

“Our focus will continue to be on the guys we have here as we prepare for the regular season.”

Reddick’s departure from the Eagles appeared to be caused by his desire to sign a new contract as well.

He publicly expressed his hope of getting an extension with Philadelphia in February, less than two months before the franchise sent him to New York for a conditional third-round pick.
