ESPN star Shae Cornette insisted the New York Jets can’t win their division this season if Haason Reddick isn’t on the team.
With Stephen A. Smith away from First Take, Cornette happily took on the role of delivering steamy scenes.
And she is quite adamant with her opinions on the Jets ahead of the 2024 NFL season.
Reddick has so far been absent from training camp and now wants to be traded to the Jets.
The team has been optimistic in its response to these reports.
“We have informed Haason that we will not trade him, that he is expected to be here with his teammates, and that he will continue to be fined by the CBA if he does not report,” Jets general manager Joe Douglas said.
“Since the trade discussions in March we have been clear, direct and consistent with our position.
“Our focus will continue to be on the guys we have here as we prepare for the regular season.”
Cornette believes that if the Jets take the field without linebacker Reddick this season, their hopes will be seriously damaged.
“They absolutely cannot win their division without Haason Reddick,” she said.

“The only best thing about this entire Jets team is the defense.
“That’s what we put our hat on, if you’re a Jets fan or someone who follows the Jets closely, is the fact that their defense has ranked so highly the last few years.
“What we haven’t proven yet, is your quarterback going to be OK?
“Frankly, you’re not even sure your coach is okay yet. You haven’t seen the results of this yet.
“If you’re going to hang your hat on a defense that doesn’t have a pass rusher, that’s absolutely necessary in terms of a veteran presence.
“How can you be sure they will win the division when their only sure bet is now up in the air?
“If you look at pass rushers, or players who have had ten or more sacks in the last four seasons, there are two people – Myles Garrett and Haasson Reddick.
“He showed that he can take the defense to another level.

“(Someone) to do his bread and butter and what Robert Saleh essentially wants and go after the opposing quarterback.”
Reddick was traded to the Jets by the Eagles in April.
The 29-year-old recorded 11 sacks and 38 tackles in 17 games last season.
