The 2024 NFL Draft will see several familiar names return to the league.

Marvin Harrison, Jerry Rice, Ed McCaffrey and Frank Gore are just a few of the NFL legends waiting to hear their sons’ names called in the Draft.

Another name potentially set for an NFL return is Owens, with the son of Hall of Fame receiver Terrell hoping to get a chance.

A third-round pick out of Chattanooga in 1996 by the San Francisco 49ers, Terrell spent 15 years in the NFL.

This included stints with the Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals, earning just under $80 million in the process.

During his career, he accumulated 15,934 yards and 153 touchdowns, being named First-Team All-Pro five times and Pro Bowler six.

A member of the NFL’s 2000s All-Decade Team, Terrell was one of the greatest players of his generation and now Terique hopes he can emulate some of his father’s success.

Classmate Terique began his college career at Contra Costa College in 2018 before joining Florida Atlantic a year later.

After redshirting his freshman season, Terique made four appearances his sophomore year before heading to Missouri State.

It was with the Bears that Terique established himself, finishing with 765 yards and four touchdowns in three seasons.

Now, the 6-foot-2, 200-pound senior heads into the next phase of his career, hoping, but not hoping, that it will start in the Draft.

“I got a late start on this, so I see myself as an undrafted free agent,” he told 49ers website after participating in a Local Pro Day.

“Obviously, I’ve been working towards getting that opportunity to get drafted, but like I said, I was a late bloomer.

“I’m progressively improving and I hope to have the opportunity to be called up.”

His father joined Terique at Levi’s Stadium, who said he was “proud of him just for getting to this point.

“He has to take these moments as great opportunities to show what he can do.

“He didn’t have a lot of film work, a lot of football work throughout his college career, but there are different paths to get to a team and make history and success for yourself.

“This is definitely a step in the right direction.”

And Terrell believes his son’s upward trajectory has been visible throughout the past season.

“Just to see where he is now, the progression he made even at the end of last year, the last few games he played at Missouri State to where we are today, he’s made strides and become a really good player. receiver,” he said.

During Pro Day, Terique reportedly had the opportunity to demonstrate his skills in front of 20 scouts, according to NBC Sports Bay Area’s Matt Maiocco.

He added that Terique recorded a 4.51 40-yard dash time, a vertical of 38.5 inches and a broad jump of 10-foot-4.

The 2024 NFL Draft is scheduled to begin on Thursday with the first round, with the second and third rounds set for Friday.

Terique will likely wait until Saturday, when rounds four through seven take place, to find out his fate.
