The Jacksonville Jaguars selected LSU wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr with the 17th pick in the draft.

After the pick, ESPN interviewed Thomas’ parents, Brian Sr. and Sondra.

Reporter Laura Rutledge asked Brian Sr. what to make of that memorable moment.

“It’s amazing. That’s all I can say. It’s amazing, it’s an incredible feeling,” he told Rutledge.

So Rutledge asked the NFL mom, “Sondra, how far has this family come?”

This caused Sondra to give a literal answer to the question.

“We come from Baton Rouge, Louisiana,” she replied.

Rutledge quickly changed the subject after the awkward moment.

NFL fans, however, were left in hysterics by Thomas’ mother’s response.

“Rutledge knew what she asked, she just wanted them to know,” one wrote.

“Something so healthy about the response,” commented another.

“She’s not lying,” said a third.

The Jaguars originally had the 17th overall pick and traded up six spots to select Thomas Jr.

The 6-foot-2, 200-pound speeder will join a Jacksonville wide receiver group that will be without Calvin Ridley, who fled to the division rival Tennessee Titans as a free agent.

Last season, Thomas Jr. threw an FBS-record 17 touchdowns.

He also recorded 68 receptions for 1,177 yards.

He caught passes from Jayden Daniels, who won the 2023 Heisman Trophy and was selected by the Washington Commanders with the second overall pick on Thursday night.

The Jacksonville wideout will join a team led by quarterback Trevor Lawrence.

And Thomas Jr. will be part of a wide receiver group that includes Christian Kirk, Gabe Davis and Zay Jones.
