CHICAGO Bears wide receiver DJ Moore knows exactly what it felt like for two of his new teammates to have their names called on opening night of the NFL Draft.

Moore, 27, was drafted in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers when taken 24th overall.

He was traded to the Chicago Bears last season and saw two new teammates drafted on Thursday night in Detroit.

The Bears selected quarterback Caleb Williams No. 1 overall and added wide receiver Rome Odunze with the No. 9 pick.

Moore worked out with both men before the NFL Draft, and the Bears combined the three with their two selections on Thursday.

They also signed legendary wide receiver Keenan Allen this summer after he left the Los Angeles Chargers.

Moore, Williams, Odunze and Allen met for a secret workout in Florida earlier this month.

“I went there and it was fun,” Moore told SunSport.

“I had fun at Disneyland with the family and played with Caleb – it was a good session.

“I know Keenan, we talked a lot this offseason.

“I’m looking forward to him being in the room, exchanging ideas and learning from each other.”

Moore added: “It was incredible to hear your name called and make that dream come true.

“It was a moment that will forever remain in my head and in my memory.

“It’s a bit of pressure because you’re one of the first people to leave the team.

“They’re eager for you to really bring the great work you’ve been doing and the talent you have to their team, and they expect you to perform at a high level.”

Moore performed at a high level for the Carolina Panthers in his five seasons there.

He surpassed 1,000 yards in three of his five seasons before agreeing to a three-year, $61.9 million contract extension.

DJ Moore in the NFL Draft

Moore was traded to the Chicago Bears last year and has excelled in the stutter attack.

He had an outstanding 230-yard receiving game against the Washington Commanders that included three touchdowns.

The 27-year-old had career highs in receptions (96), touchdowns (8) and yards (1,364).

Moore will play a big role in Chicago’s new-look offense after they traded away Justin Fields and went with Williams in the Draft.

The receiver, who was promoting women’s flag football in the UK, said: “I’ve had a great year – Justin and I have grown up.

“When I arrived at a new organization, we had to grow together.

“He was in a ‘prove it’ year and he did what I wanted and helped me grow and have the year I had.

“It’s the trade part, with him being traded to Pittsburgh.

“This is a career change that everyone doesn’t want to go through, but it’s a business and good luck to him.

“It was a good year, even though we had a bad year in the league, we still showed some positive aspects for the team.”
