Kelce’s new deal is worth $34.25 million over the next two years, according to Spotrac.

This deal makes him the highest-paid tight end in the NFL and represents an increase in salary over what he would have earned in the final two years of his previous contract.

In 2020, Kelce signed a four-year contract worth $57.25 million, including $30.25 between 2024 and 2025.

His $12 million base salary for the year is nearly $1.5 million more than New York Giants star Darren Waller, who was previously the highest-paid player at the position.

And it appears teammate and friend Mahomes was well aware of Kelce’s impending new deal.

“I told you guys I’m never letting him go!! Congratulations my guy!” he tweeted in response to the news.

Mahomes and Kelce have created a special bond over the past seven years.

In 93 games together, they combined for 589 receptions for 7,303 yards and 53 touchdowns, as per Statistics.

In January, they also broke the NFL postseason record for touchdown receptions by a duo, previously held by Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski.

During their time as teammates, the Chiefs captured six AFC West titles, reached four Super Bowls, winning three, and in doing so became the first back-to-back champions since the 2003-2004 New England Patriots.

The pair also became close friends and business partners off the field.

Both were part of a group of celebrities who invested in the Alpine Formula 1 team, which they plan to watch in action at the Miami Grand Prix alongside their partners Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes next weekend, as reported exclusively by The US Sun .

Kelce and Mahomes are also opening a steakhouse together in Kansas City.

They invested $1.3 million to jointly launch 1587 Prime Steakhouse, which is scheduled to open doors in 2025.

Now with Kelce tied to a new deal, he and Mahomes can turn their focus to their quest for a fourth Super Bowl ring this upcoming season.

If they did so, they would become the first three-peat winners in the league’s history.

And it looks like Kelce is already raring to go.

“It’s not even May yet, and today we had a chance to get out there in ‘Phase 2,’ and guys were running around, and Travis was the first in line,” Chiefs general manager Brett Veach revealed on Monday. .

“And he looked 28 years old.

“The chances of someone playing until the age of 30 are very low, but it happens.

“And that happens to unicorns in the profession, and Travis is one of them.”
