Kirk Herbstreit updates College Football 25 with EA Sports to include new feature based on ‘game magnitude’

ESPN College GameDay star Kirk Herbstreit gave fans a tantalizing look at what they can expect from EA Sports College Football 25.

The highly anticipated college-focused video game is the first of its kind since NCAA Football 14, released in 2013.

It was announced in February that Herbstreit would be one of the game’s voices, accompanied by Chris Fowler.

However, it has now been revealed that there will be other pairs available.

“Chris and I won’t be at every game,” Herbstreit said in an interview with USA today.

“You will have different broadcast partners for different games.

“Depending on the magnitude of the game, that will dictate who decides the game.”

Exactly who these other pairings will be has yet to be announced.

David Pollack, Jesse Palmer and Kevin Connors will also appear in the game, although their roles have not been specified.

EA Sports senior vice president Daryl Holt added that more news will be released in the “coming weeks.”

“The people we announced are the ones we should focus on,” he said.

“This is the return of college football. It’s not just a turnaround for a year.

“So there is an element of laying the groundwork, the first release of what we wanted to get right and focus on.

“So that’s where we’re starting.

“That doesn’t mean there aren’t opportunities open for us to continue to think about the sport, the game and how we represent.”

After the news hit social media, fans quickly weighed in with their suggestions, with one name appearing repeatedly.

“Give us Gus Johnson primetime games,” one tweet read.

“We need Gus Johnson and Joe Klatt,” said a second.

“Praying for Gus,” replied another.

While a fourth asked: “How about having Lee Corso back?”

In a separate update, Fowler recently revealed in a video that he has completed his portion of the voice acting work, via Reception Sports.

Fowler explained that the process took more than 115 hours over two years and included reading more than 700 player names.

“Kirk and I did some joint recording in the final session covering some analysis on the stand,” he said.

“If your quarterback throws five interceptions and you continue to make pass plays, that gets looked at.

“If your team goes to triple overtime or beyond and it becomes a contest of two-point conversion plays and your defense picks one and runs back to a pick-two to win the game, that’s in the game along with a crazy reaction. “

The game is scheduled to be released this summer.
