TRAVIS Kelce has received a huge vote of confidence as he tries to make the transition from NFL star to Hollywood actor.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end is set to make his acting debut after being cast in Ryan Murphy’s new horror series Grotesquerie.
Kelce will reportedly appear on the show alongside Niecy Nash-Betts, Courtney B. Vance and Lesley Manville in the FX drama, by term.
And the Chiefs star got the seal of approval from Thomas Q. Jones, a former NFL star who also got into acting.
Jones rushed for more than 10,000 yards in a successful 12-year NFL career that included stints with the Arizona Cardinals, Chicago Bears, New York Jets and Chiefs.
The 45-year-old earned his first and only Pro Bowl selection in 2008.

Performing under the stage name Thomas Q. Jones, he has several acting credits, including Straight Outta Compton and the Marvel series Luke Cage.
Jones believes none of Kelce’s teammates will have a problem with him starting to act – as long as it doesn’t interrupt his day job.
“When I played in the NFL, I didn’t know I would be an actor” Jones told TMZ.
“But I did some music videos and cameos and stuff like that when I played in Chicago and New York.

“So I took advantage of some of those opportunities as well.”
Jones believes the time is right for Kelce to make the decision while he is at the height of his fame.
“Each person’s journey is different. As long as he plays in the NFL, obviously he has a big brand, a big name,” he added.
“It’s a great opportunity for him to take advantage of some opportunities in Hollywood.
“It’s a great, great opportunity for him and I applaud him for it.”
Jones admitted that combining the two careers is a challenge.
“I definitely think there’s time in the offseason, it’s just committing to it,” he said.
On Tuesday, Nash-Betts appeared to confirm Kelce’s involvement in Grotesquerie with a surprise reveal on Instagram.
“This is what happens when WINNERS unite,” she captioned a clip featuring Kelce in a backstage dressing room.
“@killatrav Welcome to Grostequerie!” she added.
Three-time Super Bowl champion Kelce later shared the video with his 6 million followers.
“Entering a new world with one of the legends!” He wrote.
There is currently no confirmation of Kelce’s character or the size of his role in the production.
Travis starred in the reality dating show Catching Kelce in 2016.
He also hosted Saturday Night Live in March 2023 and is the new host of the Amazon game show Am I Smarter Than A Celebrity?
The Chiefs superstar hopes to break into the world of entertainment with his football career in his later years.
He recently became the highest-paid tight end in the NFL after signing a two-year extension with the Chiefs.
