NEW England Patriots fans are not happy with the team’s new logo.
With the 2024 NFL season quickly approaching, the Patriots subtly revealed their new alternate logo in a tweet on Friday.
The team took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to reveal the new jersey numbers for its draft class.
In the graph it was the team’s new round logo with the letters “NE” and the regular “Flying Elvis” figure inserted.
Around him is a blue and red ring that reads “New England Patriots” and “Est. 1960.”
Despite the logo’s soft launch, it didn’t take long for it to make the rounds on social media.
“This is really bad,” one fan said of the new design.
“It couldn’t be worse,” commented a second.
“Imagine having Pat the Patriot decide this,” added another.
Not that everyone felt that way, like one fan who responded: “I loved it, to be honest… It should be the new midfield logo.”

It turns out that the logo also previously appeared on the X in a tweet from former Patriots linebacker Brandon Spikes.
During a recent trip to Foxboro, he shared a photo of the new logo on the wall at Gillette Stadium.
Following Friday’s protests in response to the release of the new logo, the Patriots’ social media team made the most of the situation.
Using the popular meme showing a woman yelling at a cat, the team captioned the shot from the woman, “Fans: you are changing the logo.”
The photo of the can was captioned: “Us: No, we are not.”
Exactly how the team plans to use this new logo is therefore unclear.
The Patriots’ current “Flying Elvis” logo has been in use since 1993, undergoing a slight color change in 2000.
Before that, Pat Patriot had adorned the team’s helmets since 1961, with minor redesigns of the figure over the years.
This logo made sporadic appearances in subsequent years as part of New England’s throwback uniforms.
Imagine having Pat the Patriot decide that.

Originally, however, the team’s logo was a simple blue three-cornered hat.
This was only used in the team’s first season in 1960.
