ELIJAH CHATMAN is an undersized defensive tackle with a GIANT chip on his shoulder.
The 23-year-old former Southern Methodist University star went undrafted in 2023.
And after failing to pick a team, he joined the New York Giants’ 90-man training camp roster.
Chatman played 56 games as a four-year starter in college.
He had 148 total tackles, 13.5 sacks, 33 tackles for loss and five fumble recoveries – even returning one for a touchdown.
At 6-foot-2 and 278 pounds, he is small for a defensive lineman but possesses incredible strength.
This explains his nickname, Baby Bison.
His agency confirmed the news on social media.
“Late, but definitely not denied!” OSMG posted.
“Congratulations to our client @brochiaeli on signing with the @nygiants after a successful Rookie Minicamp!

“Well done young man…welcome,” one fan posted.
“His movie looks good,” added another.
Chatman impressed at SMU’s pro day with a 4.81-second 40-yard dash and 32 bench reps.
He Made Bruce Feldman’s Crazy List and the analyst called him “pound for pound, one of the strongest people in college football.”
The Giants had 61 players try out along with their 14 draft picks in rookie minicamp.
Coach Brian Daboll explained his process to ensure he doesn’t miss a diamond in the rough.
What we already know
ONLY one matchup has been confirmed for the 2024 NFL regular season so far.
That’s the Week 1 matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers on Friday, September 6th.
The game will be played at Arena Corinthians in São Paulo, Brazil, and will be broadcast live on Peacock across the United States.
We also know the identity of the home teams in the three games in London, England, and one in Munich, Germany.
The Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings will host games at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, while the other home team in London will be the Jacksonville Jaguars at Wembley Stadium.
The Carolina Panthers are also confirmed for the game at the Allianz Arena in Munich.
“You don’t want anyone to go unnoticed, so bring as many people as possible and give them an opportunity,” he said.
“Again, maybe you sign one, maybe you sign two, or you sign none.
“But I think it’s good for these guys to have an opportunity and for us to be able to see them do some of our things.
“And if someone we think is worth mentioning and hiring, that’s what we’ll do.”
It appears Chatman has done enough to earn a shot at training camp.
Now he must use the platform to prove that NFL executives were wrong when they ignored his name in the draft.
He hopes to prove that it’s not the size of the bison in the fight, but the size of the fight in the bison.
