The Kansas City Chiefs have released defensive tackle Matt Dickerson from the roster.
Last season was Dickerson’s first and last year with the Chiefs.
Dickerson entered the NFL in 2018 as an undrafted free agent from the Tennessee Titans, receiving sporadic playing time.
In three seasons with the Titans, Dickerson played in 18 games, recording 15 tackles and one tackle for loss.
After his time with the Titans, Dickerson moved to the Atlanta Falcons, where he played in six games, recording 12 tackles and one tackle for loss.
Dickerson spent 2023 with the Chiefs, playing 12 games for the team.
He recorded a career-high 15 tackles and added the third tackle for loss of his career.
Dickerson was cut to make room for linebacker Cole Christiansen.
Christianson was originally offered by the Chiefs as an exclusive rights free agent, but the offer was withdrawn.
Instead, he was fired by the team at Dickerson’s expense.

Christiansen began his career in 2020 with the Los Angeles Chargers as an undrafted free agent.
In two years with the Chargers, Christianson played in just seven games and recorded three tackles.
After moving to the Chiefs in 2022, he played in just six games, recording a single tackle.

They traded up in the NFL Draft to select wide receiver Xavier Worthy.
The Chiefs also signed quarterback Carson Wentz as a backup and waived running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire.

The team will try to become the first team in NFL history to win three consecutive Super Bowls this season.
