TRAVIS Kelce praised No. 1 overall pick Caleb Williams as having a “game-changing mentality” and compared him to Patrick Mahomes ahead of the new NFL season.

Kelce has the pleasure of playing alongside Mahomes, arguably the greatest quarterback of all, on the Kansas City Chiefs.

And when Kelce looks at Williams, who was selected in last month’s NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears, he sees similar qualities.

Speaking on his New Heights podcast, Kelce said Mahomes’ college highlights at Texas Tech and Williams’ college highlights at USC have a lot in common.

“It was a lot of feeling, a lot of confidence to throw that thing on the field and let your guys make plays,” Kelce said.

“He has that game-changing mentality where at any moment he can kill you with his arm, and he can do some things with his legs and run the ball – a lot of QBs can’t do that, who play really well.”

The Bears had a disappointing 2023 campaign, finishing 7-10 and missing the playoffs.

Kelce has no doubt that Williams will help them do better when the 2024 season begins in September.

“I thought he was an absolute stud,” Kelce said.

“I think Caleb goes out there and makes them a better football team, I really do.”

There is no doubt that great things are expected from Williams in Chicago.

The 22-year-old played for Oklahoma and USC in his college football years, winning the Heisman Trophy in 2022.

It had already been widely reported that Williams would be the first player chosen in the Draft.

And he certainly showed he wasn’t lacking in ambition when he spoke in Detroit.

“My goal is to get as far as possible in February,” Williams said.

“It is an honor and a privilege. I care about the fans, the community, the players and the coaches and I care about the Chicago Bears.”

You can start buying tickets for some games on several websites now:

Before purchasing tickets from resale sites, check the prices as they are third-party sellers and, more importantly, the cost may vary depending on demand. You can pay more than an official ticket, but you can also get good last-minute deals.

But if you can’t make it in person, don’t worry, there’s still time to set up your stream before the season starts.

Kelce is part of a Chiefs team that is widely viewed as the NFL’s newest dynasty.

Inspired by the iconic Mahomes, the Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers to win the 2020 Super Bowl.

They then won another Vince Lombardi Trophy by defeating the Philadelphia Eagles in 2023.

And in February, the Chiefs had three Super Bowl victories in five seasons.

They were trailing at halftime to the 49ers in Las Vegas, but came back with a 25-22 overtime win.

The winning touchdown, scored by Mecole Hardman, was inevitably set up by Mahomes.
