The General announced his commitment to the University of Louisiana Monroe and its aptly named Warhawks.

He is a native of Shreveport, Louisiana, and the son of former LSU receiver Abram Booty

“I’m excited to work with my new teammates at the University of Louisiana Monroe! I’m coming back home! Booty tweeted.

“YES GENERAL… congratulations my brother”, replied a fan.

“It’s only fair that General Booty is a Warhawk,” added another.

“I was in Shreveport until I was 12 and have a lot of great memories and friends from Louisiana,” Booty told USA TODAY.

He said ULM coach Bryant Vincent was a big factor behind the move.

“His vision for the program, along with the team he brought together, was very impressive,” Booty added.

“Secondly, being close to where I grew up in Shreveport, my whole family will be able to come to the games and watch me play.

“Lastly, the history of the quarterbacks in the program with guys like Stan Humphries and Doug Pederson who came through there and the love of football in the Monroe community.”

Booty spent two years with the Sooners after transferring from Tyler Junior College in 2022.

Sooners coach Brent Venables realized after passing for 3,115 yards and 25 touchdowns in his only junior college season.

“I loved my time at OU. The people make that place special,” Booty said.

“I learned from Dillon Gabriel how to attack each game week and prepare.

“From Coach Venables, I learned how important it is to establish a culture and I will cherish the time I spent with all my teammates.”

Before purchasing tickets from resale sites, check the prices as they are third-party sellers and, more importantly, the cost may vary depending on demand. You can pay more than an official ticket, but you can also get good last-minute deals.

But if you can’t make it in person, don’t worry, there’s still time to set up your stream before the season starts.

You can also stay up to date with the latest NFL coverage right here at The US Sun.

Booty played two games in Oklahoma and has two years of eligibility remaining.

His unusual first name is said to come from his father’s fascination with the military.

And he put his last name to good use last year.

Booty secured a lucrative NIL deal with Rock ‘Em Socks to create a line of personal underwear last year.

The rule change allowed athletes like Olivia Dunne and Caitlin Clark to profit.

Dunne is a social media sensation who has amassed over five million followers on Instagram.

While Clarke’s WNBA debut drew jaw-dropping numbers on Tuesday night.
